Colorado, to a greater extent than many areas of the country, has embraced the “Green Building” trend and sustainability has become the key word for many project designers and developers as they describe their upcoming projects.  Perhaps it is the same boldness that has always made Colorado the “Wild West” that drives our regional development, design and construction professionals to seek out and embrace new technology that can enhance their projects and generate positive returns, both in dollars and public opinion.

The push for sustainability is certainly not confined to Colorado, so there are products and processes being developed all over the world.  Sustainable Building Experts’ mission is to introduce some of the best new sustainable building products to the Rocky Mountain region and assist clients on both ends of the transaction in reaching their goals.

Our goal is to supply you green building products that are both of high quality, and offered at a competitive price.  We are specifically targeting a few areas currently where we see the biggest need for comptitive and even sole-sourced products to be brought to the local market.

1. Green Lighting - Induction is a low cost efficient lighting source we utilize to retrofit existing fixtures to increase visible lumens, cut down on energy usage, and due to the long life of the system drastically reduse maintenance.
2. Archtictural Fiberglass - Fiberglass is not new technology and has been around for many years.  However, it has not been purused in the architectural application.  Specifically our early push will be to utilize fiberglass handrail in lieu of steel as an alternative for Pedestrian and Bicyle rail on bridges.  Fiberglass can provide a 10 year warranty on the color, eliminating any annual painting or rust spots or drips on your new concrete.  Finally the cost is substantially less than steel.  Necessary levels of AASHTO, IBC and OSHA are all met.
3. Liteblok - A low cost, high performing, Green alternative to conventional stick frame construction.  Insulation infused concrete blocks that dry stack to construct very quickly cutting the duration of your project.  The high performance of the block eliminates the need for wood studs, insulation and exterior sheathing.  This product may help to realign thinking of typical residential construction.
4. Terrewalks - Green recycled rubber 7,000 psi highly durable product used in lieu of concrete for your sidewalks.  How many times have you seen sidewalks newer than 5 years where tree roots have caused the panels to tilt and move.  These trip hazards can be eliminated for the next 20 years by installing Terrewalks just once.
